Tunisia beats Egypt to win Africa men volleyball championships

Tunisia clinched 2017 Africa men volleyball championships after edging Egypt 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-15) in the finals on Sunday at the Cairo Stadium Complex in Egypt.

The win ensured Tunisia reclaimed the African championship after 14 years of their last title in 2003. Tunisia captured the trophy 8 times before in 1967, 1979, 1987, 1995, 1997, 1999 and 2003, before adding the 9th in 2017.

Cameroon clinched the bronze medal as well as the third African ticket to the 2018 FIVB Men’s World championship after they beat Algeria 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 27-25) in the third place encounter.

Kenya finished the competition in 10th place.
